Back in Chicago

Il rientro é stato molto difficile ... dopo quasi quattro settimane con tutti i sapori europei!
Per fortuna non ho avuto molto tempo per crogiolarmi dalla noia visto che giä dal giorno successivo il mio arrivo ho iniziato a lavorare a tempo pieno nello studio di Holabird & Root.
Ero emozionatissima ... piü che altro perché non sapevo bene cosa mi avrebbero fatto fare ... in che progetto mi avrebbero fatto lavorare ... chi sarebbero stati i miei colleghi e soprattutto i miei capi ... visto che non sono proprio la tipa che riesce a sopportare i "superiori"!!!
Sono stata molto fortunata perché le persone con cui lavoro sono tutte molto carine e il progetto é molto interessante! Si tratta della ristrutturazione di un Atmosphere Theatre del 1920 che verrä trasformato in un Movie Theatre con l'aggiunta di un albergo. Siamo ancora all' inizio per cui avrö la possibilitä di seguire il lavori sin dalle prime fasi progettuali, sperando di poter continuare per vedere anche le varie fasi costruttive.
Lo studio é di fronte alle Sears Towers e anche l'esperienza quotidiana Downtown é molto curiosa! In fondo durante il semestre non ci vengo quasi mai da queste parti ed é un peccato perché é sicuramente una delle zone piü belle della cittä!
E poi Chicago in estate é bellissima! Finalmente un'estate senza troppi problemi di clima e con il mare (si lo so é un lago ... ma é grande quanto l' Adriatico!!!) ... magari é la volta buona che mi abbronzo pure! Insomma ... concertini - mostre - mare - world cup - lavoro - persino la buona Birra e Margarita! Inizia l' estate 2006 ...

I was really curious to see the Allianz Arena designed by Herzog & De Meuron and so we decided to visit it --- but unfortunately the next chance to go inside will be only after the World Cup for security reasons.

OlympiaPark

Next to the BMW Welt there is the Olympiapark designed for the XXth Olympic Games in 1972. The park itself was designed by Günther Behnisch and it is really nice to see how this park is still in use and beloved by the local community.

The Olympic Stadium was designed by Frei Otto & Partners and it became really famous for its tent-like roof construction.

Visitors can have a tour of the Olympic Stadium walking on the catwalks of the roof ... nice!

Right now in Germany everything goes around soccer and this is one of the funniest things that we have found out in Munich about the World Cup 2006 ...
